What are your goals in Australia?

Select all that apply — your answers will filter the most relevant visa options

What passport do you hold?

Your passport determines eligibility for certain visas (ETA, eVisitor, Working Holiday)

Working Holiday and some visitor visas are passport-specific. Select the country that issued your primary passport.

How old are you?

Age affects Working Holiday eligibility (must be under 31) and points score for skilled migration

Where are you currently?

Some visas can only be applied for onshore (inside Australia) or offshore (outside Australia)

What is your family situation?

Partner and family visas depend on your relationship with an Australian citizen or permanent resident

What best describes your occupation?

Skilled migration requires occupations on specific government lists (MLTSSL / STSOL)

For skilled visas (189/190/491), your occupation must appear on the MLTSSL (Medium & Long-term Strategic Skills List) or STSOL. Healthcare and IT occupations are heavily represented.

Skills assessment status?

Points-tested skilled visas (189/190/491) require a positive assessment from the relevant authority (ACS, Engineers Australia, AHPRA, etc.)

What is your English proficiency level?

English affects points score for skilled visas and is required for most work and study visas

Points: Competent (IELTS 6) = 0 bonus, Proficient (IELTS 7) = +10 pts, Superior (IELTS 8) = +20 pts

What is your highest qualification?

Qualifications contribute to your points score and affect eligibility for skilled work visas

How many years of skilled work experience do you have in total?

Count all experience — overseas and in Australia combined. Australian experience is worth more points and we will ask about it separately next.

Do you have an Australian employer willing to sponsor you?

TSS (482), ENS (186), and SESR (494) visas all require employer sponsorship

What matters most to you?

Select up to 3 priorities — these will weight your visa matches accordingly

How much of that experience is in Australia?

Australian work experience in your nominated occupation earns significantly more points than equivalent overseas experience — this is critical for your EOI ranking

Points: 1–2 yrs AU = +5 pts on top of overseas pts  ·  3–4 yrs AU = +10 pts  ·  5–7 yrs AU = +15 pts  ·  8+ yrs AU = +20 pts. This score stacks with your overseas experience points.

Which state or territory would you prefer to live and work in?

State nomination (190 visa) adds 5 points to your score. Regional nomination (491) adds 15 points. Each state maintains its own occupation list.

Tasmania, SA, and NT typically have the most open nomination lists and fastest processing. WA has a very large state list. NSW and VIC are competitive but occupation-specific.

What are your approximate net business assets or investment funds?

Business and investor visas have strict financial thresholds set by the Department of Home Affairs. Your assets determine which visa stream you qualify for.

188A Business Innovation requires A$800K net assets + A$500K turnover. 188B Investor requires A$2.5M net assets. 132 Business Talent requires A$1.5M+ and significant ownership. Values are in AUD.
